TWO days before Christmas this year, the US Transportation and Security Administration reported 2,081,297 passengers on holiday flights; just 144,062 less than the year before the original Covid-19 ravaged the travel and hospitality industries.

It was just over a month since the newest variant of Covid-19 was first reported to the World Health Organization from South Africa on November 24.
