A MAGNITUDE 4.7 earthquake shook Zambales at 2:27 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The tectonic quake took place 9 kilometers northwest of Masinloc, Zambales with a depth of focus of 29 kilometers. It registered Intensity 4 in Masinloc, Zambales; Intensity 3 in Iba, Zambales as well as Angeles City and Mabalacat City in Pampanga; and Intensity 2 in Palauig and Olongapo City in Zambales as well as Quezon City, Makati City, Malabon City and Mandaluyong City. Meanwhile, Intensity 2 was also recorded in Olongapo City in Zambales while Intensity 1 was registered in Marikina City, Plaridel town in Bulacan, Guagua town in Pampanga, Dagupan City in Pangasinan and Gapan City in Nueva Ecjia. Philvolcs reported that no damage and aftershocks were expected from the quake.
