THE Philippines has banned inbound flights from eight countries in a bid to prevent the spread of the heavily mutated Omicron variant of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Malacañang said on Wednesday.
Acting Palace spokesman Karlo Alexei Nograles said the decision to ban travelers from "high-risk" areas that are part of the so-called "Red List" was reached following a meeting by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases on Tuesday.
