Since he announced his candidacy for a Senate seat, netizens have poked fun at him while constituents familiar with his councilor service in the First District Makati City from 2010 to 2016 and his congressional service in the same district from 2016 to 2019 were ecstatic.
"Anong gagawin mo sa Senate? Maninipa? (What are you going to do in the Senate? Kick people?)," posted one online troll.
