A FEW months before Covid-19 shook the world, I had the opportunity to be one of the judges for the National Search for Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Schools (Elementary Division), an annual program initiated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
As a national judge, I visited the top five finalists: North Central School SPED Center in Santiago City, Isabela; Caranan North Elementary School in Pasacao, Camarines Sur; North Central Elementary School in Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Yubo Elementary School in La Carlota, Negros Occidental; and the Bukal Sur Elementary School in Candelaria, Quezon.
