PH banks' bad loans reach P483B

THE amount of bad loans in the Philippine banking system reached P483 billion at the end of October this year, according to data released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Friday.

Gross nonperforming loans (NPLs) incurred by lenders increased by 22.50 percent to P483.98 billion at the end of October, up from P395.05 billion a year earlier.
