PNP probes ambush of town councilor

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Dionardo Bernardo Carlos on Tuesday ordered a thorough investigation of the killing of a town councilor in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte.

On December 6, after attending the customary Monday flag raising ceremony, Sangguniang Bayan member Apolonio Medrano, 69, of Sarrat town was shot dead when he was about to board his vehicle.
