Joblessness rate down in October

THE number of unemployed Filipinos fell from 3.81 million in October last year to 3.5 million in October this year, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said.

In a briefing on Tuesday, National Statistician Dennis Mapa said based on the latest Labor Force Survey (LFS), the number of out-of-work individuals translates to an unemployment rate of 7.4 percent, down from the 8.7 percent in October last year.
