THE World Bank on Tuesday revised upward its 2021 Philippine economic growth forecast to 5.3 percent from 4.3 percent on the back of the better-than-expected third quarter economic output.

"We raised the forecast in 2021 mainly because of this upside, this surprise on Q3 (third quarter) numbers, given what happened in Q3," said Senior World Bank Economist Kevin Chua during the launch of the Philippines Economic Update (PEU).
