Ensuring strict compliance with the STCW Convention

As countries rush to prepare future marine officers for the high technology workload onboard advanced ships, software developers have come out with highly responsive learning management systems (LMS) for their education and training software applications that ensure strict compliance with the 1978 STCW Convention, as amended.

For those not yet familiar with the information technology lingo, LMS is a software application for the automation of enrollment, administration, documentation, activity tracking, reporting, and delivery of educational courses, training programs, or learning and development programs. One of them is MINERVA LMS, a web application with a companion mobile app that provides comprehensive solutions specifically for students of BS Marine Transportation (BSMT) and BS Marine Engineering (BSMARE) programs under maritime higher education institutions (MHEIs) from their enrollment to graduation.
