TEN percent of Filipino families experienced involuntary hunger at least once in the past three months, according to the September 2021 survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
This is estimated at about 2.5 million families in the country who experienced hunger due to lack of food to eat. Of the number, 7.9 percent or 2 million families experienced moderate hunger while 2.1 percent or 534,000 families experienced severe hunger.
