A city councilor in Biñan City, Laguna has filed criminal charges against a woman who previously hurled malicious and derogatory accusations against him for alleged rape by sexual assault.

In a six-page complaint, Councilor Jose Francisco Ruben 'Cookie' Yatco charged Jovelyn Reyes Lugma of Sampaguita Street, Barangay Santo Tomas with slander in connection with her supposed defamatory statements, 'with malice and evil intent to malign, ridicule, slander and harass [him and his family], during [their] conversation with the following witnesses, namely, Rosalie Hapin Macuto, and Darren Lagunday Duran[.]'
