AS Covid-19 wanes and more Filipinos become vaccinated, businesses are also preparing to require their people to return to work using hybrid work arrangements. Some say that in such an environment, work will never be the same. Among others, employees want changes to make the office safe before they return to work. They also expect to not report to the office some days in a week and that future meetings will continue to include remote participants.
But what really is a hybrid work environment? What is the difference between it and the traditional work model? Most say that any departure from the traditional work model comprises hybrid work, an arrangement that provides some flexibility on where, how and when work is completed. There is really no exact form as it can come in different variations. Some businesses might require employees to work in the office twice a week or only when required by a client. It might be in the form of requiring groups of employees to work in the office during a particular week while the rest work from home on an alternating basis.
