THE Department of Tourism (DoT) welcomed the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to shorten the hotel quarantine period — for fully vaccinated balikbayan (countrymen), including overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), returning from yellow countries — from five days to just three days, starting November 22.
Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat confirmed that fully vaccinated balikbayan from yellow countries with predeparture testing within 72 hours shall be required to undergo a three-day facility-based quarantine with testing on the third day but are enjoined to complete self-monitoring up to the 14th day from arrival.
