THE decision of President Rodrigo Duterte to seek a seat in the Senate in the May 2022 polls was borne out of his desire to continue serving the people and not to escape the investigation of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on his alleged crimes against humanity, Malacañang insisted Tuesday.

'Wala namang kinalaman sa ICC case 'yung desisyon ni Pangulong Duterte na tumakbo bilang senador (The decision of President Duterte to run as senator has nothing to do with the ICC case),' Cabinet Secretary and acting presidential spokesman Karlo Nograles said during his press briefing.
