The country's palay (unmilled rice) production is on track for another record year, with the Department of Agriculture (DA) primarily attributing it to government interventions, continued funding support from rice tariffs, and favorable weather.
Citing initial estimates from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the DA said palay production is expected to reach 3.753 million metric tons (MT) in the third quarter of the year, 6.7-percent higher than 3.516 million MT in the same period a year ago.
