Philex to focus on Silangan mines

TUBA, Benguet: Philex Mining Corp.'s Padcal copper-gold project in this municipality has been the lifeblood of the company since 1953, producing copper concentrates with gold and silver as by-products.

The mine life of Padcal mines in this province may have been extended until 2024, but the company is now focusing on the potential of its Silangan mines in Surigao del Norte, Philex President and Chief Executive Officer Eulalio Austin Jr. said in an interview.
