THE Philippines is requesting additional funding of $250 million (about P12.54 billion) from China's Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for the purchase of vaccines against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The loan will be used for the national government's Second Health System Enhancement to Address and Limit Covid-19 under the Asia Pacific Vaccine Access Facility Additional Financing Project, or HEAL2-AF, according to documents released on the AIIB website on Friday.
