DILG to recommend discontinuing wearing of face shields in open spaces

THE public wearing of face shields to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) may soon be discontinued as Interior Secretary Eduardo Año is set to make the recommendation in the next meeting of the government's pandemic response task force, his spokesman said on Thursday.

The government policy for the wearing of face shields has been in place for more than a year now, with President Rodrigo Duterte giving contradicting declarations earlier this year on whether to keep this as one of the country's health protocols.
