THE Deparment of Science and Technology (DoST)-Caraga through PSTC-Surigao del Norte spearheaded the conduct of a virtual training to introduce sensory evaluation and customer acceptability. There were 200 participants from different national line agencies, institutions, Setup clients, and industries across the country who joined the training via Zoom Meeting and Facebook Live.The training, conducted by Engr. Emman Lliam Prisco, Science Research Specialist 2 of DoST-Caraga, provided a comprehensive discussion on sensory perception, principles of good sensory testing, factors affecting sensory measurements, establishing sensory panels, sensory evaluation methods, and how to plan a good sensory experiment. It highlighted significant insights on the role and importance of sensory evaluation in product development, shelf life assessment, and customer demands.
