Britain's Covid-19 cases surge anew

LONDON: Covid-19 infections in England have increased to their highest level since the beginning of the year, according to official figures released on Friday (Saturday in Manila)

The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) survey estimates around 1 in 50 people had coronavirus in England in the week to October 22, which is the same proportion of people at the peak of the second wave in early January.
