FilBasket opened its inaugural tournament on Thursday, October 28, and its officials reaffirmed its stand that the newly-formed league is amateur in nature.
Last summer, the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) staged a bubble tournament for four teams seeing action in the division championships, and were able to secure permits from the local government unit (LGU) and the Department of Health in staging the event.
