TWO suspected members of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity have been cleared by the Supreme Court of charges of violating the Anti-Hazing Law of 1995 for the death of an 18-year-old college student in 2009.

According to a decision penned by Justice Henri Jean Paul Inting, the court's Third Division granted the petition of Carlos Paulo Bartolome and Joel Bandalan as it reversed and set aside the Aug. 30, 2016 decision and Oct. 26, 2016 resolution of the Court of Appeals (CA) that sided with the Sept. 4, 2014 ruling of the Branch 20, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Imus, Cavite convicting Bartolome and Bandalan for violation of Section 4(a) of Republic Act (RA) 8049, or the "Anti-Hazing Law of 1995."
