RJFM or Rajah Broadcasting Network Inc. was founded in 1963 by Ramon 'RJ' Jacinto, who was a teenager at the time. RJ has always been a pioneer and an innovator who took the helm. What started as a small station in the backyard of his parents' home became a legendary station. RJFM has influenced the Philippines in a way no other radio station has. RJFM was the first station to play music that other stations would not dare to play. It introduced Elvis Presley, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones and many other popular foreign artists. RJFM was also the first station to propel the rise of original Pilipino music (OPM).

In the '70s, when nobody would give rising Pinoy bands airplay,RJFM did, paving the way for music to become what it is today. Artists and bands like Sampaguita, Juan de la Cruz band, Asin, and many more. DZRJ coined the term Pinoy rock and rhythm and the rock jocks became stars, and parking lot concerts were filled to the brim where OPM performers gave it their all.
