THE Supreme Court has upheld the Court of Appeal decision that junked the petition for writ of kalikasan filed by Sen. Cynthia Villar who seeks to stop the planned reclamation project covering 635.14 hectares of water in Manila Bay along the Bacoor-Las Piñas-Parañaque coastline.

In a 33-page decision penned by Associate Justice Rosmari Carandang, the full court denied Villar's petition as it affirmed the decision dated April 26, 2013 and the resolution dated Aug. 14, 2013 of the CA, which denied the petition for writ of kalikasan filed by Senator Villar.
