MOGADISHU: Somali National Army's 60th Division on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) killed four al-Shabab militants and injured several others after a fierce gun battle near the strategic town of Wajid in Bakool region, southwest Somalia. Mohamed Moallim Yusuf, Wajid district commissioner, said Somalia National Army carried out the operation after learning that al-Shabab militants were punishing owners of seven donkey carts that were delivering food. He said the operation was aimed at rescuing owners of donkey carts as well as the food that was being ferried to local residents.
