Fears allayed over Covid-19 'Delta descendant' in PH

THE Department of Health allayed fears that the so-called AY.4.2 sublineage, or the so-called 'descendant' of the highly-infectious Delta variant of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), has emerged in the Philippines.

Health experts have raised the alarm on the possibility that this new sublineage may evade vaccine immunity and may also increase transmission.
