EDITOR'S NOTE: Since the beginning, there have only been two ways to deal with this pandemic — whether as an individual, family unit, corporation, industry, or country. The first is to get stumped and stop, and the second, to adapt and move forward.
Option No. 2, albeit obviously the right choice, is easier said than done. It is and can be very daunting. Yet, it is for this very reason why we, at The Manila Times, eagerly and dutifully adopted the battle cry to "Let the future begin" — to move forward despite Covid-19's lingering presence. Because as the first and oldest chroniclers of Philippine history, we have always known the Filipino's resilience, and while it may wane then and now, stories of hope, ingenuity, hard work, survival and triumph will always serve as powerful reminders to the stumped and fearful that they too can do it. That they, too, can and will move forward.
