In 2020, Kulay sa Tubig (KST) beat the odds to stage the annual competition that champions the best watercolorists in the country. It was an amazing feat, for sure, but with the country still battling the pandemic, the invitational competition needed a Herculean effort once again — if not more — to mount the 33rd Kulay sa Tubig this year. In recognizing the undertaking, the art community rewarded Gallery Genesis — the institution behind KST — with support to hold its biggest edition yet.

'This was the first time that we received more than 300 applicants,' Patrice Salas, president of Gallery Genesis, told The Sunday Times Magazine in an exclusive interview.
