Evolving medical interventions for Covid-19

Nearly two years ago, medical experts scrambled for ways to treat Covid-19 as the disease overwhelmed hospitals worldwide. Today, they are better prepared and equipped to fight the virus responsible for the disease even as it continues to mutate.

Rontgene Solante, head of the Adult Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at the San Lazaro Hospital and a member of the Health department's vaccine expert panel, noted that patient management at the start of the pandemic was dependent largely on the use of antibiotics and oxygen.
