In the World Bank's 2020 Ease of Doing Business Report, the Philippine improved its ranking to 95th out of 190 economies, significantly better than the 124th posted a year earlier.

Allegations of data tampering, primarily said to have benefited China, last month prompted the World Bank to discontinue the annual report. While there is no indication that the Philippines' ranking could also be put to question, local officials said efforts to improve the business climate would continue.
