PH okays tocilizumab from Chinese manufacturer

THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the application of a Chinese manufacturer to distribute the anti-inflammatory drug tocilizumab in the Philippines in a bid to stabilize its supply against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

FDA Director-General Rolando Enrique Domingo said the agency has approved a version of tocilizumab made by Livzon Mabpharm and was approved instantly due to special lanes for Covid-19 therapeutics.
