BACOLOD CITY: The political landscape in Negros Occidental, particularly in its capital Bacolod City, has never lacked the fanfare and the fireworks. The clash for power has always been engaging in the battlefronts of economy, peace and order, unemployment, urban housing and for the coming elections, the Covid-19 pandemic.

For the 2022 polls, all eyes will be on Bacolod City as incumbent Mayor Evelio 'Bing' Leonardia takes on billionaire-politician Alfredo 'Albee' Benitez in what Negrenses are calling a 'Battle Royale.'
