LA TRINIDAD, Benguet: A lawmaker seeks to file a resolution to investigate the alleged smuggling of carrots in the country that had significantly affected the market price of highland vegetables produced by thousands of farmers in the province.
ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Eric Yap, who chairs the House Committee on Appropriations, branded the unrestricted entry of imported vegetables as an "economic sabotage."
