Lebanon crushes IS cell

BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army Directorate of Intelligence arrested a number of people who formed a cell supporting the Islamic State in the northern city of Tripoli, a statement by the Lebanese army reported on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila). The statement said members of the cell purchased weapons and ammunition in order to carry out terror operations, taking advantage of the deteriorating situation in Lebanon.It added that the cell members also sought to recruit more to join them.
