The local government of Alcala in Cagayan province has initially installed 66 free wifi devices in learning hubs in 159 sitios or sub-villages in its 25 barangays, according to Mayor Cristina Antonio.

'This is not only for students and teachers but also for parents to assist their young ones in their studies through online or blended learning,' Antonio said in her official Facebook page, adding that the installation of 93 more wifi connections in learning hubs is ongoing. These will also serve the needs of residents to connect with their families or relatives abroad or other towns and provinces in the county.
