Days before the official filing of candidacy in the first week of October, local politicians in Cavite have begun aligning themselves and forging alliances in preparation for the 2022 elections.
Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Remulla Jr. has expressed his interest to run for a second term. Tagaytay City Councilor Althea Tolentino, daughter of Cavite Eighth District Rep. Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino and Tagaytay City Mayor Agnes Tolentino, has been eyed as Remulla's running mate under the Magdalo Party.
