THE Department of Health (DoH) on Tuesday bared before a Senate hearing that the Covid-19 pandemic has adversely affected the country's anti-tuberculosis program.
Health Undersecretary Mario Villaverde told the Senate Committee on Health and Demography headed by Sen. Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go that the pandemic derailed the DoH's program, which tested only 556,000 TB patients in 2020 as against 1.67 million in 2019 or a decrease of 59 percent.
