Obiena places fourth in Germany tilt

FILIPINO pole vaulter Ernest John 'EJ' Obiena placed fourth at the 2021 ISTAF Berlin-World Athletics Continental Tour Silver in Germany on Monday, September 13 (Philippine time), a day after setting new personal Philippine and Asian records of 5.93 in Austria.

The 25-year-old Obiena cleared 5.81 meters in his third and last attempt of the said height. He skipped 5.86 and proceeded to 5.91, but he could not hurdle the bar in three tries.
