DepEd declares victory as school year opens

Cheers and jeers attended the opening of classes on Monday, with the Department of Education (DepEd) claiming victory while a teachers' group held a protest rally to denounce an 'underfunded distance learning.'

President Rodrigo Duterte joined the program to kick off the start of distance education, lauding the Education department's strong commitment to deliver quality learning.
