URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan: Two officials of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) in Region 1 (Ilocos Region) denied corruption exists inside their offices and irregularities attended the awarding of infrastructure projects implemented under their supervision, contrary to an earlier expose made by officers and members of the Citizens Movement Against Corruption, Crime, Illegal Drugs and Gambling Inc., a nationwide group headed by Prof. Salvador Singson-de Guzman.
In an interview with The Manila Times on Wednesday, NIA Region 1 Director and engineer Angelito Miguel and engineer Gaudencio de Vera, division manager of the Pangasinan Irrigation Management Office, cited contents of their joint letter they had submitted to NIA Administrator Ricardo Visaya, dismissing allegations of wrongdoing.
