BFAR eyes incentives for aquaculture investors

THE Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) is looking at providing incentives for interested investors in the country's aquaculture sector, in an effort to increase local production in this industry, its top official said.

In a virtual press briefing on Thursday, DA Undersecretary for Agri-Industrialization and Fisheries Cheryl Marie Natividad-Caballero said the DA-BFAR is now coordinating with the Board of Investments (BOI) in identifying both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives that the government may provide to private sector pursuing investments in Philippine aquaculture sector.
