FORMER senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. said he was considering running for president in the 2022 national elections amid the support he was receiving from some sectors and political groups.Marcos also confirmed that he was talking to both factions of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino - Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) since he has friends from both sides. But everything 'is very fluid,' Marcos said Wednesday night during a virtual forum organized by the Anvil Business Club.He was asked to react to the report that some political parties were willing to support him if decides to run for the presidency. However, they will withdraw their support if he slides down to the vice president position.'Those mga supporters namin (of ours) they say, kung titingnan mo yung (if you'lI look at the) survey I do better in the presidential survey than the vice presidential survey,' Marcos said.He continued, 'So, yes. I think that is a common sentiment that I really...that many of our supporters want me definitely to run for the presidency.''And that's the reason why I'm even considering it because nandiyan talaga yung (the) support (is there),' Marcos said.'Mukha namang may tao, may tutulong sa atin, may susuporta sa atin (I appears that there are people who will support us). So, again these are the elements that you have to have to determine para makapag (in (order for you) decide,' he said.Marcos added, 'Yes, I've heard those comments before. But again, yes, I take note of it. That's why I feel that at least it's a possibility that it [is] certainly part of the plan. The presidency is not taken off the table by any means.'Pressed to comment on the revelation of his elder sister, Sen. Ma. Josefa Imelda 'Imee' Marcos, that he was in talks with the two factions of the PDP-Laban, he said, 'In truth, we talk to everybody.'The PDP-Laban is split into two with Senators Aquilino 'Koko' Pimentel 3rd and Emmanuel 'Manny' Pacquiao leading the other faction while the other one belongs to the group of Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.'Lahat naman yan kaibigan ko eh (they are all my friends). I worked with them. We've been together. So, yes. The senator [Imee] is right that we are talking to the factions and others beside [PDP-Laban],' he said.'So hindi lang talaga yun (it's not only that) because especially now ang daming nangyayari (so many things were happening). We have to keep up. So, you have to keep up with what is going on. So, everything is changing,' he said. The younger Marcos added, 'So, yung naging usapan nyo nung isang araw pagka may nangyari kailangan kayo mag usap ulit (So, what you had discussed the other day, if something happens [later on] you need to talk again.''So, that is where we are now. It's very fluid, very volatile, very fast moving,' he stressed.Asked to comment on President Rodrigo Duterte's recent statement that his sister Imee allegedly wants to be the running mate of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio if he decides to seek the presidency in 2022, he said, 'I think Mayor Sara clarified it already.''So, I think ipaubaya na natin (let's leave it at that) because she was the one mentioned. Hindi naman ako mentioned sa ano (I was not the one mentioned. And nagpaliwanag na siya (and she explained already). So let us defer to her statement,' he said.
