If you ask me how I found myself in the world of marketing and advertising - my day job for almost 15 years now - I would be the first to tell you that I don't know exactly. And while I graduated with a degree in International Marketing with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations, my heart was always in writing, hence this column, and teaching, therefore the years I spent as an educational therapist. However, as life would have it, you would always be led to where you are meant to be.
The world of advertising and PR, especially the one in Manila, opened itself to me because of a former student and a once upon a time good friend. It was him who encouraged me to take my writing to the world of brands and to soak up as much as I can. And because I took that risk of moving away from the world of education and into communications, I was rewarded with rich experiences, numerous ways to upskill, and improve my craft, all of which have positively added to my career up to this very day.
