The need for a unified Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) position on the South China Sea (SCS) dispute was tackled on Thursday during the inaugural Ambassador Rodolfo Severino Jr. Lecture titled "The Code of Conduct on the South China Sea: Is it still worth pursuing."

The event was sponsored by the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) and the Carlos P. Romulo Foundation for Peace and Development.
