Last year, Hi! Society attended the grand opening of Takoyatea by Joel Cruz, the food and beverage business of the dubbed Lord of Scents. It is fast growing, with 50 franchises as well as company-owned stores nationwide.

The brand name is a coined word from takoyaki and milk tea. Joel Cruz's name was added as suggested by friends to add immediate recall and brand differentiation, riding on the success of the Aficionado perfume and personal care label of franchising.
