Not much good news in GDP 'growth' result

THE release of the second quarter gross domestic product (GDP) data on Tuesday by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) indicated that the economy expanded by 11.8 percent year-on-year. In strictly numerical terms, this represented the highest GDP growth rate recorded by the Philippines since 1988, and it elicited completely predictable reactions from officials of the Duterte administration.
