Army on alert for extortion activities

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato: The Philippine Army's 1002nd Infantry Brigade (1002IB) is prepared to provide military escort for politicians and candidates during the campaign period if there is a threat of terrorist and extortion activities by the New People's Army (NPA).

Gen. Potenciano Camba, commander of the 1002IB based in Magpet, North Cotabato, also assured election candidates they can campaign in barangay (villages) without any danger of NPA intrusions.
