Police 'data gathering not for political purposes'--Palace

MALACAÑANG on Thursday defended the Philippine National Police (PNP) over its data gathering activities, saying these were 'not for political purposes'.

'Unang-una, hindi po 'yan for politics [....] 'Yung tinatawag po natin na active police community operations ay matagal na [pong] ipinapatupad (First of all, that is not for politics. These so-called active police community operations have long been implemented),' Roque said.
