THE government will provide aid for former Olympian Mansueto "Onyok" Velasco Jr. to make up for the unfulfilled promises he received when he won an Olympic silver more than two decades ago, Sen. Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go said.

"Under President Rodrigo Duterte, we give importance, support and incentives to our athletes, especially the winners now in the Olympics. We should also give our athletes the recognition they deserve, including Onyok who needs our help now," the chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports said.
